Feedback - Thursday - FLIC, Maths, GASP and Art - oh and World Book Day!!

 Good afternoon all,

Well done to everyone who has logged on to any Near pod lesson today. I hope you enjoyed Mrs Burns' WBD story and all of the teachers dressed up - we had great fun doing it but it wasn't the same as being in class!! We will have to make up for it next year.

It has been another great day on Near pod again, even though we are so close to the end. We have been busy planning lots of exciting activities for you next week. On Monday, we will do some curriculum but we will also do lots of nice activities to welcome you back and make you feel safe, happy and focused in school. We can't wait!! So, feedback from today...

FLIC

We have lots of children who completed FLIC today with most of them doing 100% of all the activities set. I hope you enjoyed it!! Those children were... Aimee, Conor, Faizan, Fatima H, Fatima T, Grace, Hammad, Ibrahim, Khadija, Maisey M, Muhammad Junaid, Moeez, Ayan, Nathan, Noore, Roselyn, Sameeha and Shahd.

Loved your answers to my FALSE statement on the collaboration board. You can't just pinch two zeros when multiplying by 100!!!

Well done to these 3 girls on the matching pairs game. All correct first time...

Well done to the following children on your work on days of the week, months of the year etc. You did a great job on filling in the blanks..

Maths

Well done to Aimee, Conor, Fatima T, Fatima S, Grace, Iman, Kasey, Khadija, Moeez, Maisey M, Muhammad Junaid, Nathan, Noore, Shahd, Zahara and Wilay for completing 100% of the maths activities set today - fantastic attitude to learning!! Resilient and persistent!

Well done Conor P and everyone else for nailing tenths and hundreths...

And to Kasey and everyone else who matched these correctly...

Also, there were lots of children who matched the fraction to the decimal correctly and even do so first time achieving 7/7 in the matching pairs game. These children were - Arsh, Conor, Fatima, Fatima, Grace, Khadija, Moeez, Mustafa, Nathan, Noore, Roselyn, Zahara and Zainab.

GASP

Well done to all those who completed GASP today (Aimee, Conor, Fatima H, Grace, Iman, Isha, Kasey, Moeez, Maisey M, Khadija, Muhammad Junaid, Nathan, Sameeha, Shahd, Wilay and Zahara). Everyone did a great job on the quiz and got the spellings and punctuation answers correct.

We are definitely better at punctuation than spelling though - so we need to make sure we do plenty of work on spellings when we get back.

Well done to Aimee for spotting lots of incorrect spellings, to Conor for underlining all of the inaccuracies in the sentences and Kasey and Isha for ensuring you edited all the missing or incorrect punctuation.

Art

Well done to Aimee, Fatima, Grace, Khadija, Moeez, Nathan, Shahd and Wilay for completing 100% of the activities - fantastic effort.

In the poll, 85% of you who completed the lesson said you liked expressionism. That is good as we will be developing our skills in this area of art when we get back into class.

Here are some fantastic answers to the open ended question on commonalities between Picasso. Matisse and Van Gogh...

Also, some great responses to the colour Matisse uses and what mood that is trying to express...

I agree with lots of you who said that the 3rd picture of Picasso's set a different mood...

My last but by no means least collaborative board was a great success. I like art and how it looks different to different people.

Fantastic work once again! Can't wait to see you all on Monday!

Tuesday Feedback - GASP, FLIC and Maths

Hi all,

Well done to everyone who has logged on today and completed one or all of the lessons. I'm so proud of your continued hard work even in this lovely nice, spring weather. Keep it up!

In maths, we were looking at multiplying a decimal by a whole number - I hope you all enjoyed the video of my hands ha ha!!

There were some excellent answers explaining how much money Rosie would have which was £49.95. Well done to all of the children who got that correct. Here is Zahara's detailed explanation...

Well done to everyone who got the answers correct on challenge 1-2. Here are Muhammad Junaid's answers. Well done...

Well done to everyone who had a go at the challenge 2-3, especially Faizan, Aimee and Amina - it really was tricky.

In FLIC - we were covering some new concepts and revising some we had covered before. Well done to Fatima H, Yusuf A, Noore, Kasey and all the other children who completed 100% of the work. I was so impressed.

Here was an example from the opened question on the months of the year and how many days are in each month. Excellent answers from Amina and Arsh...

Well done to Nathan and Reda for getting 5/5 and top of the leader board for the 'time to climb' activity. Also, these two children scored well....

Imaad, Khadija, Moeez and Shahd did really well in the matching pairs activity and Nathan and Noore completed them all correctly first time...

Here are the answers for the times tables speed test...
Well done to all for your super hard work in FLIC...

In GASPs, we had lots of children complete the lesson today. I loved the collaboration board - it is tricky sometimes using a word as either a noun or a verb. Here was the board from today...

Well done to Wilay (our new boy in y5/6, who we look forward to welcoming on Monday) and Haroon who persisted in the matching pairs activity until they got it right. Well done boys!!

Well done to the following children for the 'fill in the blanks' activity...

Well done to those children who used the word 'watch' as a noun correctly. Here are some examples ...

Look out for separate Geography feedback coming from Ms Carney too. Enjoy your Wednesday and I'll be back on Thursday.

Take care and keep safe,

Mrs Johnson 🌹🌸🌷
