Good afternoon all,
Well done to everyone who has logged on to any Near pod lesson today. I hope you enjoyed Mrs Burns' WBD story and all of the teachers dressed up - we had great fun doing it but it wasn't the same as being in class!! We will have to make up for it next year.
It has been another great day on Near pod again, even though we are so close to the end. We have been busy planning lots of exciting activities for you next week. On Monday, we will do some curriculum but we will also do lots of nice activities to welcome you back and make you feel safe, happy and focused in school. We can't wait!! So, feedback from today...

In the poll, 85% of you who completed the lesson said you liked expressionism. That is good as we will be developing our skills in this area of art when we get back into class.
Here are some fantastic answers to the open ended question on commonalities between Picasso. Matisse and Van Gogh...

What a fantastic week we have had. We are going out in style before returning to school next week!! Today is my last post as Ms Carney will be with you tomorrow. I have to say I'm not sad to see the back of blogging and Near pod. It is nowhere near as fun as being in the classroom with you all. We can't wait to welcome you back on Monday!
I'm so proud of all of your work this week and lots of you haven't relaxed one bit even though you know we are back to school next week. Just a reminder that school for us starts at 8.30am and myself, Miss Duffy and Mrs Entwistle will be at the gates from 8.25am on Monday to welcome you back. Great 90% said that the statement was False - All the planets in our solar system are not the same.
These children matched the planets correctly to their names in 10 tries or less:
Nathan, Khadija, Kashif, Noore, Zahara, Sadia
Fill in the Blanks these children got at least 12/14 correct
Nathan, Khadija, Noore, Zahara, Arsh
Here is a very detailed answer from Zahara, using all the vocabulary to support her answer - Well done Zahara
In my opinion, this statement is false. There are 8 planets in our solar system. The biggest planet is Jupiter and the smallest planet is Mercury. Atmospheres differ on the planets in the solar system there are two types, gas planets and rocky planets which is divided into two groups. Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are known as the rocky planets. Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are the gas planets. A year on Earth lasts 365 days. A year on Mars lasts 687 days. The planet closest to the Sun is Mercury and the planet furthest from the Sun is Neptune. Saturn has the most moons, with 87. Mercury and Venus are the only planets in the solar system without any moons. The temperature on each planet is not all the same some are hot some are cold excepting Earth which is just a right amount of hot and cold with life to support living creatures and humans to live on.
Another great days work children.

Hi all,
Well done to everyone who has logged on today and completed one or all of the lessons. I'm so proud of your continued hard work even in this lovely nice, spring weather. Keep it up!

There were some excellent answers explaining how much money Rosie would have which was £49.95. Well done to all of the children who got that correct. Here is Zahara's detailed explanation...
Well, even with the sun shining and your imminent return to school, you are all still showing commitment to your learning. It has been a pleasure to read your responses to today's Geography lesson, that included lots of new learning that will come in very useful when you return to school, particularly the names of some of those artists...
So, first of all let me congratulate those of you who have completed 100% of the activities, showing perseverance when you may have found the activites a little tricky. Well done to...
Amina Iqbal, Fatima Tariq, Kashif, Muhammad Junaid, Mustaf and Nathan

Good morning Y5/6,
What a fantastic day we had yesterday!! Apologies again for the VIPERS code. I don't know what happened. Thank you to those children who sent a comment or email to let me know so that I could get a new code up and running quickly. Sorry if it caused a delay for any of you.
Another sunny March day today and now less than one week until we are all back together again!! Today we have FLIC, maths, GASP and Collective Worship for the morning and look out for Geography from Miss Duffy/Ms Carney this afternoon.
In Collective worship we are continuing the theme of friendship - which I can't wait to get properly into next week when we can see our friends again at school! Maths is multiplying decimals and I've filmed some little videos for you so hopefully you can understand exactly what to do.
Good luck with all of the lessons and let me know if you need any help!!
Keep up the good work - not long to go now!!!
