English and Science Feedback - Wednesday 13th January

What another amazing day of home learning upper key stage 2! I am still amazed every time I see how many of you are accessing your learning and taking the time to produce such fabulous work! We love seeing your work, so please keep this up!

In English today, you all did so well at deciding whether certain words or phrases in the text described the appearance or personality of Harry Potter. So a big well done to everyone!

So far, there have also been some brilliant character descriptions on Nearpod. Here are some of the ones that I really enjoyed reading today:

Well done Ayesha, Grace, Muhammad Junaid, Nathan and Yusuf Amin! A huge well done to Aqib too, who emailed this wonderful description, including some of our sentences of the week:

His face was covered in ash and dust. His face left no original colour of his skin except the tears that silently passed down his cheek. His non-looked after clothes were clinging on to his limping body, as his black, messy hair stuck out in all directions. His frail body looked as if it had no care from him or anybody. Even though his body was physically hurt, he looked confident walking to his next chimney.

Filled with scars on the outside (and in the inside), he took a glance at the GIANT house. Peering at the inside, he acted as if he is confident and could do this. The thought growing up and older made his fear into brave. However, he still must sweep the chimney. Thinking this is the last chimney he’ll ever sweep, he entered without a smile…

In science, you have all tried really hard to learn about the vital organs in the human body. Well done everybody! I loved reading your responses to the big question too. Here are two examples from Isha in year 6 and Aaliyah in year 5/6:

Amazingly, Arsh, Ethan, Grace and Nathan managed to match the vital organ pairs on their first attempt - well done! Also, a big well done to Faizan, Laaibah and Zaynab. I know you found this a little bit tricky, but you persevered and did such a fantastic job!

The 'Fill in the Blanks' activity saw lots of you answer this correctly - you must have been really concentrating on your learning. Well done to Abdul Manan, Arsh, Chloe Higson, Kasey, Maisey Mills, Mark, Nathan, Roselyn and Zainab Sultana!

Keep up all this amazing work - your teachers are SO proud of you!

See you tomorrow for more fabulous learning,

Miss Duffy 🌸
